Message:   I remember the station from 1945 till it closed.
I lived in Childe Okeford and remember the train waiting if any one who worked or went to school in Blandford was late. Mr Lintern used to be in the ticket office. I used to go to the station with a horse and cart to collect cattle and pig food and would sometimes have to wait while the staff went off to deal with a train. One of the porters who I wont name used to spend the tine between trains at the pub at he station entrance
I used the train a loy to visit my Gran in Midsomer Norton the wait at Tempelcombe used to seem to go on for ever.
Good luck with you project
David
