The forgotten S&DJR not this one the other one Name: Mark Date Posted: Aug 3, 07 - 12:37 PM Message: I went up to Breamore near Fordingbridge today it interesting to see what they done. That railway from Salisbury to West Moors was called the S&DJR. The Salisbury and Dorset Junction Railway. I had a look at Fordingbridge and Verwood nothing left! My Uncle used to drive the British Railway lorry out of Fordingbridge and my Grandad was Portersignal at Verwood. I just to say thanks to Doctor Beeching because if my grandad had not lost his job at Verwood and gone to work at Brockenhurst I would not be here. Still it would be interesting if line was open today what it would be like. | |||
