That railway from Salisbury to West Moors was called the S&DJR. The Salisbury and Dorset Junction Railway. I had a look at Fordingbridge and Verwood nothing left! My Uncle used to drive the British Railway lorry out of Fordingbridge and my Grandad was Porter signal at Verwood. I just to say thanks to Doctor Beeching because if my grandad had not lost his job at Verwood and gone to work at Brockenhurst I would not be here. Still it would be interesting if line was open today what it would be like.
