What is your favourite stretch (or stretches) of the S&D?.
From a photographic point of view, I like the climb out of Bath towards Devonshire Tunnel, and the cuttings towards Masbury.

I don't really have a favorite stretch of the S@D as such,  but my heart will always be Templecombe .. My grandmother worked there for years as did my Uncle who are both featured in one of Alan Hammonds books. As kids we spent many , many happy days down there on the platforms chatting to the drivers and fireman when the trains came in ! A beautifully kept Station and very friendly people.
